ON OVARIAN CANCER
5K FUN RUN/WALK
(Formerly known as the WALK FOR THE WHISPER)

We were proud to have another record-breaking year with our 8th annual Walk on Saturday, September 27th, 2008!

The 8th annual Walk took place, as always, in Grapevine, Texas, starting from Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine, at 1650 W. College Road. The Walk/Run coincided with the Texas Legislature's resolutions declaring September as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month in Texas. With a record number of Teams and Participants, this was truly a spectacular year and one in which everyone helped make a difference in ovarian cancer awareness in the DFW metroplex!

VOLUNTEERS:

We had more than 70 volunteers involved with the Walk this year. These volunteers, many of whom were involved for months prior to the event, were phenomenal and it would be impossible to do this event without our volunteers. In particular our Walk Director, Johnna McClure, Team Leader, Jennifer Williams, Chapter Coordinator, Allison Osburn, and Co-President, Donna Lackey, were amazing!

For all the volunteers involved - THANK YOU!!!


RACE AWARDS:

This year the race chip timing and results were handled by the company It's About Time. Results are posted below based on the final list provided by It's About Time on October 1st, 2008. Only those participants who had chips and had provided necessary name and age data are included in the results, and only the 5k event was included in the racing awards.
